Here's another shot of the carnage from downtown:

They are scheduled to begin shooting on East 9th tomorrow. I hope to be able to get down there next weekend and get some pix of them actually filming.

Watched IM2 again last night; I think my favorite line was Fury's first comment when he appeared: "Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the doughnut."

Guess Howard Stark perfected his hovering tech from that car in Captain America to this.:)

Hey I just thought is there any chance we'll see The Stark Mansion that becomes Avenger's Mansion and maybe the real Jarvis?:techman:

My guess, since much of the movie seems to be in NYC, is that Tony will donate Howard's old mansion in New York to the team. No clue about Jarvis.

Thanks, but looking at that pic again it looks like it has huge turbofans or something like that and the Stark car was using something like the repulsors that Tony builds into his Armors, but I'm sure Stark tech(both Howard and Tony's) is all over that thing, plus I'm still hoping that car from CA is a hint that we'll see the flying cars that SHEILD has used in th comics.

One imagines they'll continue to use the computerized Jarvis.

Also, given the extensive use of the more real-world setup from the Ultimates, I imagine they'll operate out of SHIELD, not the Avengers mansion, since they're a government team.

Haven't viewed the vid, so I can't tell re the context - but I'm guessing a CGI villain.

    No, he's a

Check out the spoilery set images on this page to see for yourself. I can't imagine the mocaps being anything else.

Amateur footage of a fight scene featuring Evans and the aforementioned mocaps:

Yeah, that suit is rather underwhelming. I'm still really, really, looking forward to this though. I'm not about to swear off a movie just because I didn't like one picture.

No, that would be stupid. Still, I'd trade the bloody Avengers for a couple more Captain America films set during the war.

Yeah, Cap's WW2 suit rocked! This does nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for Avengers, but I hope they do a re-design before Captain America 2.

I think Cap's "Avengers" costume is awesome myself. It is very much a mesh of both his 616 and Ultimate costumes much like his World War I costume was as well.

I liked the WW II outfit because in some ways it looked like something someone might wear for practical reasons - it's protective, among other things. And it works well for the period. It leans just a bit in the "Iron Man" direction there.

The Avengers outfit is just day-glo superhero long-johns, same as Green Lantern or Superman's outfit. Ho-hum.

A couple of really cool characters and potential film series - Iron Man and Captain America - are being sacrificed on the altar of Marvel's super-colossal moneymaking Mega Franchise. I understand the business reasoning, but it's still a pity that the studio can't be more creative and less clumsy about it all.
