Well, good on the production team for keeping this a secret for months. I refuse to attempt to judge this guy until I've at least seen him in something, but I do love the sheer chutzpah of it- oh Steven Moffat, you weren't satisfied with waiting until May 2010 to piss off the fanbase.
As always, I'll wait and see what he does with the role. At the moment, I'd say he's a little young, but he might do well in the role. I haven't seen him (or at least don't remember him) in any of his other roles though.

Dear God, the last time I saw a forehead like that, it was on the guy who'd discovered fire. He reminds me of Peter Boyle in 'Young Frankenstein' Lazy choice by the Beeb - a chance to really shake up the character and they're sucking up to their young girl audience. Pity.
