Drive for COPD 300 at Daytona to day. all the fans injured have apparently been stablized Praying for a quick recovery foe all.
I watched it live, and cheered when Stewart got the win (I'm a Dale Jr. fan but was happy to see a Chevy win it) but then knew something terrible had happened when I saw that 32 car hit the fence. This was a testament to how safe the cars are since Jake walked away, but also shows that they need to beef up the catch fence.
I don't mean this as any personal knock on you, but a statement like this both confuses and amuses me. It's like saying, "I'm happy that this baseball player hit a home run with a Rawlings bat instead of a Louisville Slugger."
Because in NASCAR, there are 43 potential winners versus the 2 of most other sports...so with the high odds that your particular driver of choice won't win, it helps to have another team or manufacturer to root for. In a way each manufacturer is a team itself. I'm a Chevy guy, so I was glad a member of the Chevy team won. It's similar to how I root for the NL team in a World Series (if my team isn't in it) or the All-Star Game since my team is from the NL.
Update from Jayski's and on TV is those most seriously injured have been up graded. that is great news. Here is a raw Fan Video [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlenmeON6m0[/yt]
There are disclaimers on the tickets that say you could possibly injured and that NASCAR is not reliable
