I thought it was a pretty average teaser. Nothing exciting (seeing a version of the Enterprise or hearing the Trek music doesn't 'do' it for me as it apparently does many). Some questions:

    - Why is the Enterprise being welded by hand by a 1930s steelworker?
    - Why does the ship look like a less-advanced version of the TMP one and not the TOS one?
    - Why is the ship silver and not pearly white?

The music was pretty nice, I suppose. But, all in all, it didn't feel very 'Trek' to me. The whole tone seemed to be much more akin to the recent Star Wars prequels: dark and gritty, not hopeful and positive. But meh...it was a teaser, so there you go.

    *sigh*

People... It's a teaser- and probably a metaphor for the "under construction" thing. Get over it, don't take everything so literally and stop complaining about things that don't matter.

At least not to me. :)

So I've heard. But it's probably not canon, so I wouldn't make any bets.

    Any possibility to download it?

Is a good feeling, almost as good as on the big screen. The cheap pirated version is crap^^

Meh it was a shit trailer. My expectation for the movie was never high and now it has been lowered even more. The whole under construction metaphor didn't work for me. The historical audio tracks in the background were jarring instead of inspiring. The music was good though as usual along with Spock's voice.

I was wondering why the hell there was no chatter about this trailer in the Future or Trek forum, then I remembered that this one was created (I have most forums set on invisible--out of sight out of mind kinda thing, I s'pose).

The trailer didn't really do anything for me, I'm sorry to say. I'm more excited now over Trek 11 than I was before... but it just wasn't what I was hoping for; didn't provide any sort of emotional drop kick to lift me out of my Star Trek dark ages.

Brilliant as teasers go, it promises something LIKE the original TOS without actually being TOS, and leaves you wanting to see a lot more! Excellent work. It appears that the teaser was made specifically to be one, and none of that footage will actually be in the movie, a ST first I believe. I also like that fact they didn't show a lot of quick glimpses of movie scenes and unfinished footage like past ST teasers.

The best ST teaser trailer of all time: A+!

PS I just downloaded and watched the HD trailer...awesome!!
