"Court Martial" - TOS

 

What a coincidence. My TOS re-watch brought me to this very same episode today. I watched the original. Which version did you watch?

 

"The Measure of a Man" (hybrid extended version from BD box set) (TNG).^I guess this is TNG's answer to "Court Martial."

 

I am on a re-watch as well and manage at least 3 a week but try for 4 or 5, depending on what I am doing. I usually watch on the weekdays. Court Martial was yesterday evening and was the original version. I hope to get in "The Return of the Archons" tonight, but I don't know what my Friday nights plans are yet.

Q and Guinan met before, 200 years earlier. The backstory might have made a good ENT episode, though keeping Q's first contact in TNG might have made continuity problems. And that stance Guinan took when first seeing him... like she was about to cast force lightning or something. Q did say she wasn't what she appeared to be.

Me too. How the hell did the Gideons replicate the Enterprise so convincingly?

And how do the Gideons feed all of their people? You'd think alot of them would have starved to death.
Starfleet has the perfect solution to Gideon's overpopulation problem. Starships. You got too many people. Move em to another planet or planets.
Memo to Starfleet: There's these newfangled devices called cameras with telephoto lenses. Put some on your starships so that they can passively scan a planet's surface from orbit. That way the Gideon idiots wouldn't know about it.

I still own that VHS version of the first movie. Great tape. I watched it constantly.

Listening to the La-La-Land TOS CD set has put me in a TOS-watching mood lately.

 

The Battle - TNG

Wife lost a bet so we are going through top 10/15 eps for every series (plus select movies). Surprisingly she says they are much more entertaining than she expected... Next up is "Skin of Evil" and she has no idea someone's gonna get it.
