That's pretty damn good. 4 feet long, huh? That takes dedication and love. Nobody draws, sculpts or paints anything almost as big as they are unless they put their all into it.

Your friend seems to be pretty cool.

    ^Yes, cool painting, cool friend!

Kestra, you were totally adorable! And I love the Alcatraz pictures. I'd love to go there.

I draw all the time and I don't think I'd have the stamina for a four-foot colored mural. That's some dedication right there. I salute them.

Well, for what it's worth, she said she gets really boring commissions all the time. She was just happy to paint something a little more fun without too many constraints.

Also, if you'll take note, my cat is in the window of the spaceship.

I love this picture. Despite the super 70s look, there's something really modern about it.
GLOWORM!!!!!!!! I loved mine. He was the perfect toy to hide in the closet with. You were such a cutie!

I love looking at these old pictures...seeing pieces of people's pasts.
This is one of my favorites of my dad and little sister. It's super 1993, but charmingly so. Oh dad, that tie:

And here's me with my big sister, who is the embodiment of 1990. That dye job. That perm. Those glasses. That FRINGED STONEWASHED DENIM JACKET (which I kinda wish I had now):

    :)

    Yep. That's "1990" alright.

I was fifteen going on sixteen then. Trust me. I knew a lot more about stonewashed denim than I should have.

Seriously, though, did you have anything that compares with that. I mean, really. Fringed. Stonewashed. Denim. Jacket!

    ;)

You mean ties that were the height of men's fashion 20 years ago? :p

Fringe? Hell, no. I drew the line at drawing a Boyz II Men logo on mine and sewing a Star Trek patch onto it.

    Don't ask.

    You got it.

Also many ties that have a rather Peanuts-like motif to them.

But 1990 is way too young. I also own a mirrorball.

You must be the same age as me, cooleddie. So ... is this the point where I cop to having not only stonewashed ... but bleached (as in I did them myself) denim jeans ... and jacket?

    No?

Oh good. I'm safe for now. :shifty:

I had a pair of Hammer-style parachute pants with velcro when I was fifteen or sixteen.

I have a tie I bought for my senior picture in 1991 ... that I still wear today. I still get compliments on it.

I'll have to find (or take) a photo of it sometime.

    ETA:
Speaking of horribly dated family photos ... I offer this cringe-inducing relic of the 70s:

Samuel and I sported the same Luke Skywalker bowlcut back then. I haven't yet scanned and posted any photos, but around the time I was in first grade I wore a wide variety of Star Trek, Star Wars and superhero shirts to school and outside to play. Kid's flannel shirts, too.

My juicy disco bangs at age six could have covered up the entire visible surface of the Moon.
