Both those stories immediately came to mind when I read this challenge. I was concerned that my initial ideas where too close to either one to be considered original. Great avatar, by the way, Starkers. Way to keep with this month's challenge theme.
I almost wish I could enter my current Bluefin story, "Ghost in the Machine." Unfortunately, it's much too long and probably won't be finished by Halloween. I do have an idea for a short story, but I don't know if I'll have time to flesh it out. I'm looking forward to the entries - I love a good ghost story!
This is my entry.. STAR TREK; FINAL REVISION The reason I did it in 'report' form was because I had never seen one done as a 'report'. So, not a traditional story. Who ever said I was traditional??? Rob Scorpio
Wow! It's so cool to see that this is still going. How long has it been? (It seems like about three years to me.) It's good to see that some things don't change. I look forward to reading and voting.
Yeah, I think this is probably our three year anniversary - I think the winning entries thread starts with the October contest for 2005! Hey, feel free to enter too, Scatta
I may try my hand at the challenge this month. "Star Trek: Mandela" Earthdate: August 12 2379 Doctor Kathrine Pulaski is requested and required to relocate to the Mandela (Legacy-Class) after Dr. Mary Klesaris is assigned to Drema Station & the U.S.S. Progress (Mediterranean-Class) is reassigned to the Io - Earth Supply Run. Kyle Riker, her on-again/off-again beau is concerned that something is "haunting" her sleep. He contacts the Titan & the nearest counsellor he's comfortable consulting about this intimate issue....his now daughter-in-law Deanna Riker-Troi, also formerly of the Enterprise-D.
Great! For anyone else wanting to enter, by my rather bleary-eyed reckoning there's three days and eleven hours until the close of competition.
