By rank & file I'd say Trek's canonuity goes like this: * TV series & films * Pocket Books' TrekLit * The comic books. * PC & console videogames. * TrekArt from Paramount &/or PB. * Aficionadofic * Aficionadofilms * Aficionadoart * My TrekBBS threads There you have it STAR TREK canonuity from highest to lowest rank
I could probably live with that list, though I would switch the comic books with the PC and Console games and probably ditch the fan fic
My list would go like this: 1. Star Trek series and films. 2. Whatever stuff I also like from any of the spinoff media.
My list 1) TOS, TNG, DS9 2) ENT (Only lower by virtue of technological inconsistency and a few inconsistent events. But overall, it fits... decently.) 3) Behind the scenes info, original intent, concept designs, etc. 4) Literature 5) TAS 6) Comics 7) Games 8) Fanfic and other fanony things. 9) Miscelleanous tie-in (like the thing at the Star Trek Adventure where you got put in your own episode. Various commercials featuring Star Trek over the years.) 10) Various spoofs (SNL, Star Wreck, etc.) 11) Common public misconceptions ("Star Trak", "Doctor Spock") 12) Turkish Star Trek 13) Star Trek V
I love your list. It is flawed in that comics are literature, but that is more than made up for by the complete absence of Voyager.
TOS-ENT and all of the movies (even the icky ones) in proper temporal order with allowances made for time travel/alternate timelines. TAS. Published books and comics insofar as they do not directly contradict the above. Nothing else.
TV Movies Novels Comics Gaming materials. The TV shows are the source of all. The movies sometimes get things wrong - Klingons have no tear ducts/Klingon blood is Pepto Bismal pink. The novels do the nice job occasionally of fixing continuity and canon errors between various episodes and the movies, too. The comics and games augment series canon most of the time.
