Goode - too weedy. Not seeing it. Jackman - I would have given him the role last time out. But he's only 7 months or so younger than Craig and while Sean Connery may famously have 'made way for an older man' (in Moore), the last few times Bond has been re-cast, the new man has been a few years younger than his predecessor. Lee Pace - Too much in the James Stewart mould, rather than the Sean Connery mould. Far too nice. Paul Bettany - Too blond and balding. More likely to be cast as Q than 007. Toby Stephens - they will not cast someone who has been a Bond villain in a movie. End of. Fassbender - probably the most likely choice. Can't wait to see how the UK tabloids react to Bond being played by a German-born, Irish raised actor, who came to prominence playing IRA martyr Bobby Sands. James Purefoy - too old, last time out would have been his last chance.
Why in the blue hell are we talking about a new Bond actor when the current one hasn't even started shooting his next Bond film?
Timby I agree and I wonder who the heck came up with this list and why they did it now. We casually discussed post Craig possibilities before, but I don't know why a site is making like there is an immediate campaign and half the guys on their list are all wrong. So far Fassbender is winning anyway. And although he's my choice, the rest of the options in the poll kind of stink. I made some Blood Creek avatars by request the other night and kind of thought this was very Connery, hope you can see it okay. http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u350/kristin724/Fassbender Avatars/creek13.png I'm not worried about his accent. While I liked the movie, Centurion is not the best film for strong dialogue, voices and accents. His old Brit speak is fine in Inglourious Basterds. And yeah, speaking of Connery, I don't think accent much matters when it comes to Bond, does it? Lazenby, anyone? MF could just use his plain Irish sound.
So would the Operative guy from Serenity (I keep misspelling the guy's name so I don't even try no more ). As would Colin Salmon or Eamonn Walker.
There had better be gadgets in this one. And one liners. Craig's movies have all been so dull to date.
Well, Brosnan frequently did. And apparently they offered the role to Liam Neeson ahead of Brosnan. Neeson pretty much does everything in the same accent.
I was going to mention that...! Screw that - I want him to play Bond. (Yes, I know he's too old, and I don't care one jot.)
