I have not "taken the plunge" and started a collection. I have, however, been renting all epesodes of all series.

I think I may go out and buy all the TNG series which are my favorite.

Sorry to hear that. Mileage varies between what your average fan considers worthy Trek of course... but I have to say you're missing out.

Despite the lack of media acclaim (following 21 seasons of continuous Trek, it was never going to get anything close to excitement), it does remain one of my two favourite Star Trek series.

In order of recommendation... Season 4 (full-on prequel), followed by 3 (one long epic but grim storyline), then 1 (decent early exploration) and 2 (between good & average, struggles until a great cliffhanger).

^ I'm undecided due to having missed the run on TV (I saw most of season 1). I may yet buy the DVDs. Cheers for the recommendation though.

I have the first ten films on DVD in their two-disc editions. I did take the shrink-wrap off Nemesis, but only so I could watch the special features.

Trek XI is on my Christmas list (my brother said he's getting me some special steelbook edition).

In addition to finding a used copy of the 2 disc INS, I picked up the single disc DVD of ST '09. I had thought there was supposed to be a combo pack with both BluRay and DVD, and since there wasn't, and since I don't even have a BluRay player yet, I'll stick with DVD for now, and probably pick up a used copy on Blu down the road when it gets dumped at the used store.

On DVD... just two of the 'fan collective' all series groupings (Borg and Alternate Realities).
    BR... ST X
LD... ST II to ST VI

The only complete set I have so far is Enterprise 1-4, plus TAS.

In terms of the movies I have TMP, II, VI, Nemesis, and the 2009 film.

I'm not a fan of the remastered Trek (and am underwhelmed with the way the original versions were transferred to the Blu-Ray), so I'm waiting for the original DVD sets to turn up cheap somewhere, which they will.

I have little interest in buying TNG on DVD. The show hasn't aged well for me, and while there are a few individual episodes I'd like to have, it's not worth shelling out what's still a pretty hefty hunk of change for just a few episodes. Ditto Voyager. DS9 I might buy one of these days, but it's not high on my priority list.

    Star Trek XI

I MIGHT have Star Trek IV, but if not, this is the last item I plan to add to my collection.

Enterprise is absolutely my favorite Trek series of all time. I would also highly recommend it.

All I have is Wrath of Khaaaaaaaaan, The Voyage Home, and First Contact in the 2-disc DVD versions. I picked those up as they're my 3 favorites on sale a while back from Barnes and Noble, but that was when all the series were still ludicrously overpriced so as of yet I don't own any of those sets. Some day I'll grab most or all of both TNG and DS9, though. I'm a general fan of the other 3 series, but I can't justify dropping hundreds of bucks on shows I don't fully love. I'm also planning a Blu-ray upgrade some time in the next year, so I'll hold off on other movies (Like XI :D) and upgrade the ones I have eventually, too.

I have seasons 1 to 3 of Deep Space Nine. Need to buy the last four seasons sometime next year. Also, have First Contact and Nemesis, plus two disc version of trek xi.

All but I never watch them.

In the old days if trek popped up on reruns you would go "cool".

Now days I just have my DVR set for whatever Trek. Sure I have seen very episode of all many times. But it is nce to just see some random episode that you have not seen in forever.
