Dennis has long since finished creating the ship passes for the show (except for one special request I sent him a while back...nudge), and additional ship elements were created by NEO f/x. A lot of what's left is backgrounds and animation elements, hence the tests using various techniques to create things that could actually have been done in 1969 using purely optical means. It takes a lot longer than you'd expect to find something that looks good and is 1969-compatible.
I really enjoy the Exeter episodes. I've seen them all on youtube. Is there any way to view higher resolution versions (not necessarily HD, but higher resolution than youtube)? I tried downloading from the Exeter website but it doesn't seem to work.
I'd also like to indicate the desire for having a high-resolution version of TTI. However, I believe I recall reading over on Dennis's old forum (Subspace/United Worlds/etc.) that there were no plans to make TTI available at higher than DVD resolution, or reading words similar to that anyway.
There are only two episodes of Starship Exeter: The Savage Empire and the as yet not fully released The Tressaurian Intersection. Both films were shot in Standard Definition, ergo hi-def transfers would be merely be upscaling.
Maurice, I think of Standard Definition as approx. 720 x 480 pixels, which is much better than youtube resolution. Is it possible for me to view Savage Empire or TI in a format better than youtube?
The plan was (is?) to make the show available at standard def at some time in the future, rather than the 320 x 240 currently online at Youtube and the Exeter website. The opening series titles for "The Tressaurian Intersection" are in standard def here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBU_--2qkeY [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBU_--2qkeY[/yt]
Senator Therin (of "The Savage Empire") spotted at 1983 premiere of "Return of the Jedi" in Sydney, Australia: Therin and Tharrah at Jedi premiere by Therin of Andor, on Flickr Youtube video link can be found here: http://therinofandor.blogspot.com/2011/12/andorian-interlopers-1983.html
The last time I checked, the various completed segments of "The Tressaurian Intersection" were all up (except for the last one, of course) but they did not flow together. Each time one would stop, you had to click on another one to continue on. Is this still the case, and, if so, are there plans to make a continuous presentation once the final segment is completed? (Assuming that it is still coming.)
Just curious ... The Exeter website indicates a 2-hour behind-the-scenes DVD will be sent to anyone who donates more than $25. Is that still true? Is the DVD still available?
