I caught the beginning of it, listening to it via SKY TV but then everyone else arrived home and tea was cooked etc.. Will it be on the iplayer later on?
Out of curiosity, did they actually get Emilia Jones (the little girl who played Merry) to sing it? Or did they use another singer?
I'm afraid they didn't, it was a duet with Allan Clayton and Kerry Ingram. Also the classic Who section was a real treat, hearing the synthesized scores with a full blown orchestra was brilliant!
Article includes a few Youtube clips of tonight's prom. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/07...at-the-proms-but-watch-some-best-bits-anyway/ [YT]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmWPKg5_CIg[/YT] [YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON5uV83k6wE[/YT] Loved that they addressed Matt's hair and Jenna looks stunning with her hair all made up
Finally managed to give it a listen. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b036ts7t?t=0.362 It was rather heartwarming hearing the crowds reaction to Peter Davison and Carol Ann Ford.
DW theme to close out the show. They really had them packed in this year. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VC7B-IlI5aY[/yt]
I was at the concert. It was a great night. Loved seeing everyone and I felt sorry for the people in the costumes (especially Dan Starkey as Strax) as it was so hot in the Royal Albert Hall.
Oh, and a nice clip of everyone filing offstage at the end. Matt and Peter hug. Awwww. http://instagram.com/p/buHe2_mDDL/ I was just reading about that. Apparently the heat was throwing off some of the electronic instruments as well.
The synth sounded a bit off during the rendition of the main theme. The 2010 Proms version is outstanding.
Forget the internet, Facebook alone would be burning right now. I think it's safe to say it was a just rumor. I enjoyed the above clips, especially with Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman. Matt Smith is such a goofball.
On the Radio 3 broadcast, the commentator who was explaining the visuals made a comment about "And right at the end there, a glimpse of the new Doctor, John Hurt." Possibly the rumour came out of someone seeing her notes and garbling it a bit?
Not much and only pieces that appeared in episodes of Who. Listen to the longer version on iplayer to hear the interviews with Nick Briggs and others talking about the importance of sound on the programme it's where the interval was and lasts bout 20 minutes. I enjoyed listening to the Prom this afternoon, don't know I'd I was that taken with the new piece for the 50th though.
