Mega Man X II always confused me.

No worries, I know you were joking. My response wasn't entirely serious, either. :techman:
Ha! That I did not know, however. That's pretty amusing.
Let's not forget Final Fantasy X-2.

    On second thought...let's. :p

    Definitely apocryphal.

Then there was the Bill Cosby movie Leonard, Part 6, which was only pretending to be part of an ongoing series; I seem to recall reading that it was titled that way as a deliberate attempt to confuse audiences and make them think there were earlier films.

I'm sure the latter is apocryphal, I don't think audiences are that stupid and besides they don't generally clamor to see the part 6 of anything.

The irony(yeah, I'm sure I'm not using that word right) of the King George thing is any audience that would be confused by it would never watch the movie in the first place.

With the right writer and creative team, this could be awesome. But X-Men Origins Wolverine was such a complete and utter shitfest and I DESPISE Movie Wolverine. I'm not wasting any money on it.

At least there's no X-Men Origins anywhere in the title. Or 3D.

If Wolverine Part Deux manages to get one star from me, it'll be a miracle. The first one was quite possibly the worst film ever made by mortal man. Sadly, my wife loves it, so the abomination plays around my house at least once a month... <sigh>

I'm kinda hoping they see the light and put a little Frank Miller into it: "The Goddamn Wolverine."

My mother loves X-Men Origins: Wolverine as well, which baffles me. I blame Hugh Jackman. Women will love anything he's in. :guffaw:

    Especially if he's in them!

Wolverine returns home after years spent searching for his place of birth, only to find his true love married to James Marsden. Works perfectly in this context too!

Seriously. Had a discussion about this one night with some friends; all the guys in the room thought it was terrible, all the women disagreed.

I don't think there is any question that Hugh Jackman is a sex symbol. "X-Men" thrust him into the spotlight and turned him into a superstar who's never looked back. Really if that is what brings women into watching comic book films and end up enjoying them because of that then I have no problem. It's really no different than us males who drool over Natalie Portman or Rachel Weisz for example. We'll see a film with them not only for their obvious talent but let's not kid ourselves, because they're hot too :)

i didn't hate XMO: Wolverine. it was alright. but not brilliant.

best bit's when the Weapon X team attack the African bad guys.

    Fred?
    The tank?
    The tank.

and "great, stuck in a lift with five guys on a high protein diet"

I would have liked to have seen Rose in the Howlett home sequence, while she's not an integral part of his life she is an important one and was an explanation to Logan's fondness for Red head's. Plus Rose's part in "Origin" is one of my favorite side plots in book. I agree that the Team X assault was probably the best sequence in the entire film.

To be fair-- it is the fourth story in a tetralogy, so they're not far off the mark!

Re: Aronofsky's Wolverine film title announced

I'm not fond of this current trend of giving sequels vague names that fail to sizably differentiate them from earlier entries. The 4th Rambo movie was called Rambo. The 4th film in the The Fast & the Furious series was called Fast & Furious. The 4th Final Destination film was called The Final Destination.

Why can't they do something a little more unique sounding, like perhaps Wolverine vs. the Samurai.

Yeah. Like remember the 10th Friday the 13th movie. Even its own ads pronounced it "Jason Ecks" instead of "Jason Ten."
