It is International Observe the Moon night tonight. Our high school has its own observatory and it held an open house in congunction with the observe the moon event to introduce people to the observatory. Ian looking at the moon for the very first time through a telescope. They have 8 telescope total and here is the large telescope.

Cool pics, Tom. It's never too early to get a kid interested in astronomy and telescopes and I'm always so grateful my own parents encouraged and aided my own love of the stars and night sky when I was a kid.
I got to meet some childhood icons of mine this weekend: That's Joel Hodgson and Frank Conniff of Mystery Science Theater 300 fame! And here's Trace Beaulieu and Mary Jo Pehl! Also, I walk away with this: This was the best weekend ever!
