I think you should make entering the monthly contest mandatory instead of optional. When I'm inevitably made moderator of this forum that'll be one of my first acts...
I haven't had the time and inspiration to enter it myself for quite some time. I hope that participation will increase again - not just as far as entries are concerned but also regarding people reading and commenting on the stories. We've had dry spells before so I remain optimistic. The decision which story to vote for wasn't easy. I liked both milo's and Angry Fanboy's stories a lot. But the latter ultimately had a slight edge.
For me the Voyager one is the winner by a comfortable margin. And you'll come round to my suggestion of forcing people to enter whether they like it or not eventually.
