Is it The Light at the End, Big Finish's audio drama extravaganza, with the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Doctors appearing with their respective companions? Or is the, admittedly more eagerly anticipated live-action Special, with the Eleventh Doctor joining forces with the Tenth Doctor and the, mysterious-to-date Forgotten Doctor, portrayed by John Hurt? I must admit, I find both quite enticing... But with Big Finish, the certainty of quality is more assured than it is, sadly, with the live-action counterpart. But, in any case, whats your vote? Vote away!
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await As a celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who, easily the Big Finish production. I have seen nothing (so far) to suggest that the live action effort is anything more than your average nu-Who 'special' episode. It may be really good, but as a 50th anniversary spectacular I'm decidedly underwhelmed (so far).
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I don't mind at all that it won't feature the old Doctors, since those that shouldn't appear have gotten really, really old (Davison was fine back then, but he'd be pushing it now)... That is, except Paul McGann, whose non reappearence on Who is suspicious, since he's able extremely well and could have easily returned to the part for one last time, had he been asked to. On that regard, the BBC seems, from all indications given by Moffat and Tennant in their respective interviews, seems rather unwilling to celebrate Old Who, at least in a direct manner. Thus, I reach the same unimpressed phase - and I'm a fan who came into Doctor Who through Nu Who.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I don't listen to any audios, so by dfualt it simply has to be the live action one with 10,11 and the 8.5th.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await The Light at the End by a long margin. While it may not contain any of the new series characters or elements, it's far more exclusive to the overall Doctor Who universe.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I have no interest whatsoever in audio dramas and don't plan to listen to this one or any other. As far as I'm concerned, Doctor Who is a television series, and that's where it's at its best.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await The audio seems more like a celebration of the classic series, for sure.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await If they turn the audios into books I might be interested. I like reading books not listening to them. I look forward to seeing to see Hurt, 10 and 11 together. It would have been nice to see teh earlier doctors but it will still be a good special.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Its not an audio book, though. Its audio drama - not the same thing at all. You might thinking of The Companion Chronicles which are actually "enhanced" audio-books.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I enjoy the audios, but it's the tv show that keeps me in the fandom. So yeah, the LA Special.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I'd be looking forward to the BF special if it wasn't written by Nicholas Briggs who has worn out his welcome with me. Unless it gets great reviews I can't see myself checking it out. On the other hand, I'm psyched for the 50th special.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Neither of them. I don't like Big Finish's stuff and I can't stand David Tennant.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I'm excited for both...but I'm most anticipating the 50th Anniversary episode.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await The episode for me, I don't read the books or listen to the audio dramas so I don't really care about that.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I voted for the TV Special, but even though I've never really listened to any Audios, I'm going to make a point of getting hold of this one.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Since it has the first and second Doctors in a manner of speaking, I'm going to cheat and say I'm most excited for An Adventure in Space and Time.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await I'm most await the TV special to see how much it disappoints people. But it will be good to see David back in the role. It might surprise. As a massive fan of Big Finish as I am, there's no novelty in hearing the chaps back in action again, its routine. I'm at the convention for Anniversary weekend, so have no idea how I will even see and hear everything anyway!
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Hm, an astounding anticipation for the live-action 50th anniversary. Lovely, even if its really only gonna be a celebration of its last eight years, most like.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Well, you have to look at it this way: You provided only two poll options and most people here don't listen to the Big Finish audio plays. For the TV viewers, this is the only thing they'll get (aside from An Adventure in Space and Time, but we already had a poll on that face-off), so naturally they'll vote for the TV special.
Re: Which of the 50th Multi-DoctorAnniversarySpecials do u most await Agreed. If there was a button for it,that's how I'd vote. (plus, I'm with Darth Sidious in wishing Nick Briggs would hire a script editor to sort out his scripts, so Light at the End is out by default).
