Well, I finally finished watching this week's ep on line. The culmination of the mystery was a let down, and I'm not sure what's happening to Angela but I'm willing to see her outside the bounds of the police department.

Strange, did we hear anything about the pregnancy this week?

Is she going to start "showing" anytime soon?

Well... she got shot but no one (not even the esteemed but lovesick Dr. Isles ) during the episode expressed a minute of concern for the baby on board.

Has everyone forgot that she's in the "family" way?

Am I the only one who thought Maura's date was coming onto Jane with that autographed baseball that's been in his family for ages? Or do you think Jane is right and he's just trying to buy his new girlfriend's best friend's approval?

Hmmm.

I think that's the 2nd bad guy Frankie had to kill before Jane bought the farm. She should keep him around as her personal body guard.

Speaking of personal... do you think Jane is going to try and adopt the homeless kid, or try to get Frost's mom and her partner to adopt the kid to assuage their loss over Barry's death.

I'd prefer that scenario over assuaging a certain detective's loss over the pregnancy that no-one's mentioned since she's been shot.

I agree with you. No mention of the baby......I was concerned she got shot on the belly....and I thought Mauras guy was into Jane.

I miss Frost but I'm liking the girl they brought in.

It would make sense for TPTB to try and screw up the J/M relationship by having him fall for Jane.

I mean really, they've already done the serial killer thing for BOTH women ad nauseum. They need to try some tried and true friendship drama.

I still want to know what Jane did on that trip to the Adirondacks to deserve a "funny story" retelling in the bar.

Well... did we really think they'd have Jane, running down an alleyway chasing a murderer wearing high heeled boots and sporting a 6 month pregnancy belly?

Sigh.

Nice moment between Angela and her grieving daughter.

Glad to see they didn't move the homeless girl into Jane's apartment. The fid has already lost 1 mother, why put her in a situation where her foster mom could be killed whenever she goes to work?

Did I miss something... why did Jane move into Maura's house? Is she such an invalid she can't stay home alone, or does Maura simply not trust Jane to stay home alone?

Jane's still healing. Maura is being a good Dr.

I actually thought it was a bit of a copout that the homeless girl went with the nurse. I think she would have been a good addition to the show as Jane's foster child.

But Jane's still healing. That kid needed someone who was a 100 %... not someone who needs to move in with her best friend.

Anyway, I suspect Jane (and Maura) would be better as the kid's "big sister/ mentor" than as a mother. She's too cool a kid to be forgotten by this series.

Good ep last night. Loved seeing everyone pull together to help out Korsak.

Did like Jane's tussle with Angela about going back to work. "You really love it, don't you?"

Oh Yeah.

Laughed at the idea of the two women waiting up for Angela at the end of the night.

I just hope they aren't re-igniting the Angela/Korsak tease from season 2. Angela has enough on her plate with her 2 kids being cops, and her former lover, she doesn't need another cop in her life.

Interesting case of the week. "Florida can't execute you, if you are serving life in Massachusetts."

I too was wondering why Jane was dressed up as a flight attendant. The scarf made her look that way without it she still didn't look like a librarian. She looked gorgeous though.

Well, I know that technically this is a spoiler, but its safe to say that no one will be surprised to learn that Jane survived the 6 story fall into the river.

I wondered at and liked Maura's initial descent into survivor's guilt but was also glad they didn't draw it out much further. Its sad when Korsak is more emotionally available than Rizzoli.

Unlike much of early season 5, the mystery itself was underwhelming this week but I may be biased since they made Captain Apollo look so emasculated through out the ep.

(I still haven't recovered from the towel scene in Battlestar Galactica between him and reporter D'Anna Biers. )

Tonight's ep 5x 15 : Gumshoe was fun, from younger brother's gun instructor obsession, to Maura's shipping stress reliever and accessory matching obsession to the title character of the week and his "gray area" obsession.

I wouldn't mind if the Gumshoe came back every once in a while to cross swords with Jane Rizzoli.

I gotta admit that Maura looked like a natural at the gun range, then again Sasha Alexander did handle a gun frequently at her old job (Kate Todd on NCIS).


My biggest problem was when you have a fully equipped SWAT ream with you, why would you have the 3 homicide detectives (only slightly armored) lead the way into the warehouse?

As for last week's ep... "Footloose", I'm not sure if I would have chosen this song as its backdrop, but then what song would suffice?

Last night's ep was a good one. The trio of detectives weren't bamboozled by the real killer, Jane smiled when a boy asked if the owner of the toy on her desk (Frost) used to play with it, and both Suzie & Angela were a real help to Maura this week.

I did squirm a little at the end when Jane threatened to kill the killer's stepfather and Korshak reassured her he'd lie for her if she did. In today's political climate, that was too illegal for my tastes.

The sad news is that there are only 2 eps left of the season and both will be shown next week so start your recorders at 8 pm and run them for 2 hours.

The good news is that's its already renewed for season 6 and the ratings for season 5 put it in "the top 3 of original cable dramas" ... whatever that means.
