I just finished Season 1 too and I think there were definitely a few shining episodes. Some stinkers, sure. But overall I am really liking it a lot. I don't get why a lot of Trek fans tend to dislike it so much. I really like T'Pol. I looked ahead and saw who she eventually gets paired with (I won't reveal spoilers here!) and I'm not sure what to think of it yet. My favorite episodes are the later ones of Season 1. From "Shadows of P'Jem" and on. Anyway, I'm excited to start Season 2~
I liked Season 1 for the most part, but it wasn't as good as Season 3. I would actually put it up against Season 4 though, which I think is an overrated season. There were many good episodes in Season 1 like Broken Bow, Shuttlepod 1, Vox Sola, and Shockwave.
Ethan hit up everything except DS9? Dang. He would have been too young for TOS lol. Oh man... René Auberjonois (Odo) too! ENT seems to be full of previous Trek actors.
Season 1: Mostly meh, with a few good episodes Season 2: Pretty mediocre for the most part, with a few standouts (First Flight, Cogenitor, and Regeneration, the Borg episode few wanted but actually turned out pretty good) Season 3: Good Season 4: Very good to great
Season 1+2: Between OK and Good Season 3+4: Between Good and Very Good I don't think that S2 is that much worse than the first one. At least not in my memory. It's been a while since I've seen it. But there are many S2 epsiodes that I like a lot: Minefield, Dead stop, Vanishing Point, The Catwalk, Future Tense, Regeneration, The Expanse
The first two seasons are about even for me. I might give the first an edge as it was enjoyable seeing them encounter certain things for the first time. I'd say the first two seasons are good, but season 3 is really good, having a firmer direction. Season 4 is my favorite, it an amazing season that only has a couple bad episodes, but most are great and make great use of the premise of the series.
