So, did you just ignore what I said about Young Justice and Green Lantern? I'm not going to go dredging up links, including those to all the articles that got discussed in those threads, but here's one link anyway.
His site is here: personalwerk.blogspot.co.uk/ And shows some more images. My CG version of Kirk that I'd posted earlier was based on his artwork. I think it would be a good style for a Star Trek series. In 2D or 3D.
Thanks!!! I'd seen the other stuff, but I hadn't seen all this before. Although I have some quibbles, I'm not viscerally rejecting his Kirk and Spock, so that's a good thing. Uhura looks promising. Scrolling down, the one of the "Red Shirt about to get owned" was excellent. When I got to the Horta treatment, I said, "YEAH!!!" So, OK, an enthusiastic thumbs up, let's see a demo reel!
That's okay, but I think that it's time for the styles that were shown for TNG and DS9, or for something from anime-the style seen in the show Cowboy Bebop would be amazing, or the style of the Supernatural anime: [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWk-VpK4hJo[/yt] [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4tc8Do5wQA[/yt]
So, did you just ignore what I said in my entire post? You omitted half of it in the quote. (Shrugs) Your effort to waste since I'm not going to click on the link anyway. I stand by what I said.
I always thought a Captain Riker and the adventures of the USS Titan would be good for an animated cartoon. I guess there could be issues with the novels plus its been a long time since we last saw any of the TNG crew in action.
Seconded! Another advantage of animation is the fact that it would be much easier to include more aliens on the crew, as drawing aliens costs the sama as drawing humans.
A new show is likely to be some sort of reboot, either of TNG or of the TOS era or of the whole Trek concept.
Prime Universe? Nu Universe? Have both. One off animated movies, as happen with DC Comics' Batman, Superman etc please. Turn Star Trek Countdown into that. Get Leonard Nimoy & the TNG cast onboard for the voices. Nero played by an Eric Bana sound-alike probably... Release them Blu ray, DVD, streaming or whatever. Merge the Spock Reflections and Nero graphic novels into such a cartoon adaptation. Then Star Trek Khan for the next one. That eases my slightly obsessive gene and ongoing need to be convinced that Montalban and Cumberbatch were even playing the same person. Skip Countdown to Darkness though. It was f##king terrible!
I liked Countdown to Darkness, although I read it after the movie so I wouldn't be spoiled. I think though that it would be better to tell new stories instead of ones we've already seen as comics.
