So..there you are. On death's doorstep. For whatever reason you are going to die. The how isn't important, and you still have your wits about you. Your doctor gives you two hours, maybe three, before your life....fades....to....black.

Enough time for you to watch one last movie. One last gaze into another world. Which movie, of all the movies you have ever seen, or maybe haven't seen, would you want to see before...the curtain goes down???

I kinda liked the movie playing when that guy died in Soylent Green.

Um, I want to see myself in a spacesuit pointing at me in the bed, and also a monolith. And then a star child.

Some Ligeti had better be playing in the background, also.

This is gonna sound really weird, but I'd like to watch the video that played on my airplane before take-off back in 2001 when I was flying home from Reno. It was just a bunch of tropical islands and dolphins with pretty New Agey Caribbean music playing.

It was so peaceful, I can still see it quite vividly in my head.

The Breakfast Club. Wallowing in my youth one last time...And the ending song seems like a good theme to go out on!

I'd rather skip the movie and spend time with my family. I don't want to waste the little time I've got left.

Okay...no one can get to you in time...no friends or family are going to make it because you are going to die in New Zeland...far from the real world....

What and there are no phones? I suppose if I had to pick something I'd go with the original Star Wars trilogy. I'd want something that would remind me of my childhood.

Ghostbusters, I was raised on that movie. Might as well go out with it.

Probably be The Wrath of Khan. Spending time with the guys from Trek would probably be the way to go, and I think TWOK is probably my favourite film. It has the themes of life and death, too, so that would probably appeal to my maudlin sentimentality.

As long as the conversation stays concentrated on sci-fi / fantasy, the thread's alright in here.

I'd much prefer to read a book. "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" for instance, to prepare myself. But if I had to take a break? Maybe some Dr. Who...
