I wanted Robert L. Forward's Dragon's Egg but my book-dealer couldn't find it for me in their network (I even had them call their head-office) This has happened quite a few times to me recently: The inability of my dealer is coupled with my finding of the very same book for sale on-line when I get home... I really need some plastic to pay with... Anyway, I rarely leave the (a!) book store empty handed and found "A Game of Groans" by George R. R. Washington ( ). Here's something from the back of the cover: I just happened to also pick up a tea-brewing machine from a discount store on my way home. And some groceries.
Some groceries, gas for the car and takeout food. Also, a couple of STAR WARS action figures and some pet supplies.
I have ab-so-lutely NO idea what that might even be! You bought a deck stain that wasn't professional? -that was Olympic-sized? or maybe you bought some stain for your Olympic deck? - or perhaps it's all about an Olympic stain and the middle word is just you cursing? If I were really interested I could just drag your words into Google and let it all be over with; but sometimes it's the not knowing that makes the whole thing fun BTW: is it a big deck?
The American Cinematheque is doing a month long screening series of all the James Bond movies. I just got tickets to the Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace screening on June 24th because Martin Campbell, who directed Casino Royale (and GoldenEye) will be there. Not bad for $13.00!
Photos of me with Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton, and Dina Meyer (Commander Donatra from Nemesis) Dina Meyer autograph Phoenix Comicon tickets Frames for all of the above.
I spent $1300.00 to fix my car this week. Yay for paying off your visa just in time to negate said payment!
An iPod-compatible car stereo. This thing is wicked cool. You actually put the iPod inside the stereo itself! (Doesn't even play CDs, which is fine since I don't have any. )
Woah; big bill. What happened? Looking back, I've been pretty frugal for the past month or so. I bought a pair of glasses and got new lenses in my old pair, and also collected some clothes after getting some alterations done. Apart from that, and the usual expenses of life, I can't think of anything major. I did manage to snag a potentally very nice porfolio/document case at a great price off eBay thanks to a tip-off from a friend (the seller didn't realise what they had) but it hasn't arrived yet so I'm not counting my chickens on that one just yet.
^ Wouldn't it be easier to just make your own? Just bought two movies from iTunes: Moneyball, Airplane II
A straw trilby hat, a Father's Day present; two CD cases capable of carrying 300 DVDs each (I'm trying to get a handle on my collection); a hand-painted postcard depicting my hometown's main street in the 1910s; The Essential Glenn Miller collection; and two books, Seneca's Dialogues and Essays and Gary Taubes' Why We Get Fat.
My mom was visiting the past few days and kept trying to buy me stuff, and I kept resisting. She gave me some money before she left and when I tried to decline, she said I could always spend it on some summer dresses. I promptly went out and bought a LOTR Lego set instead.
