I thought so. Glad to make your acquaintance! I must say that I love your work. My favorites thus far are the Peregrine and the Couer De Lion.
Lovely kitbash - I really like shuttlebay integrating into the upperdecks and TWO turbo shafts. Now all you need is a fan series set aboard.
Building custom models of Star Trek fan-based designs is such a niche market that it's doubtful anyone who's into it doesn't know who FJ is. I'm not worried.
His Peregrine has always been my favorite. I think he built it around the same time I ruined an Enterprise-E by turning it into a Romulan BOP.
This is really cool, I like the whole idea of the hangar up there and I like the stubby warp engines, nice variation.
Yeah, I love the Peregrine class so much that I couldn't help but sketch a descendant of her, which I estimate would be in the very late 2370's or early 2380's. Knowing me, she will probably be among my first choices to scan and post. To me, the idea of a saucer with a pair of wings and nacelles attached just makes sense, and is an elegant, simple idea for a design that I'm surprised hasn't been used in canon. Another design that I love is the Alexander class, but then again, I just have a thing for things with lots of guns.
Here we go. In action: http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_minmus.html While you're slathering the kind words upon me, please remember that the saucer-based hangar was Warped9's design, based on Masao's idea, and the short nacelles are Vance's idea, the overall ship design is based on a Jackill design, and Ziz made all the parts!
I'm think what Herkimer Jitty here meant to say was that even though the parts came from different sources, it was you who put them all together, did all of the painting, so as long as you leave credit to the guys who came up with all of the parts, there is no reason not to give yourself a pat on the back. Not-with-standing the fact that modesty is a nice virtue and all...
Not a problem. You did a damn nice job with them, that's for sure. Ziz should really have these pics up on the site for advertising. Also, can you send me a side-shot and bow-shot of the ship? I just know I'm going to be asked for her schematics as well.
The naming scheme is my fault. I made a 'USS Masao' destroyer based on one of your designs and the schematic name stuck, particularly for the saucer design. It's fairly close to what you had drawn, modified a little to work with my schematics.
Heh, technically phaser arrays. But they're basically TOS versions of Reliant's rollbar phasers - so whatever way you want to interpret them.
Just wait until you see the list of people I'm crediting for helping with Gemini. Looking forward to seeing those schematics, Vance!
