Looks great! I especially like the honeycomb shadow on the wall. Overall, I really like the way these sets were lit. If I remember correctly, it was done by kids from the Austin School of Film.

Several professional crew guys who were working at Austin Studio on other things got involved in the shoot, including on lighting.

Ahh..maybe it was the school who provided the lights and lighting crew that I'm remembering. Nice that some pros were around to help.

What really impresses me in this show as I go back through it is the camera work. There's a lot of really good angles that are not the obvious ones, and quite a few shots where the camera dollies or jibs around to follow characters. Quite a few "stacked" shots with characters in the foreground, midground and background.

Do you know if it was storyboarded that way? Was there a cinematographer involved? Was it Scott Cummins' direction or Jimm's vision...or maybe a collaborative effort? It definitely has "look' to it.

There was some minimal storyboarding. I know, because I did some of it (I storyboarded the opening bridge scene, and the Tressaurian beam-in and subsequent action in Act 2). I couldn't speak to exactly whose idea(s) it was, but I know Scott looked at a lot of TOS to see what their camera work was like. I do know they used two cameras for some scenes, and the B camera sometimes was put in an unusual perspective.

Happy Happy Joy Joy! I found some VFX elements I didn't think I had! That cuts down the number of re-renders I need to ask for. Whew.

Well, every little piece that doesn't need to be done or-redone shortens the route.

If there's ever a DVD of the finished product I'd love to hear a bonus commentary track!

Jimm and Josh did a commentary for the first one. I would think doing a commentary will be the easiest part of what still needs to be done. Heck, why not just audiotape the premiere night?

There's already a lengthy "making of" piece on the hard drive with all the footage.

How the final part was rescued would be a fine addition! :)
