Ah, but you still have to attack them yourself to get the XP. I suppose the traps do make it a bit too easy. On the other hand, people have been exploiting whatever game mechanics are available since day one.
I hear ya. Though I'm more a fan of exploring and mining myself. Grrrr. Finally in the mood to play tonight and the game server is down.
They're probably still hungover from Notch's birthday yesterday. Or somebody dumped their beer on the server.
Same here. The thought of adding stuff like hunger and XP just doesn't appeal to me considering how I play (exploring, mining and building stuff).
Both my daughter and son play on creative mode only. My daughter just keeps adding and adding to her home. My son just loves lava. We indeed are a minecraft loving family.
You might like Robert's server then, Sheep. I'd call it a hybrid of survival mode with creative mode sensibilities. We don't lose anything when we die, and we're heavy on exploration, mining and building. Perhaps most important of all is the fact that there are no creepers on the server, as we find them too destructive in general.
I'd say it's a free build server with survival elements--emphasis on gathering resources and building, and not penalizing you when you die.
