Tuvok would be the logical choice, so to speak, given he was full Starfleet. It would also keep Chakotay in his head-butting role, since he could use his full range of expressions to seethe with resentment.

But for the writers? The Captain Seven of Nine Show.

How about the Emergency Command Hologram. Now that would be quite the comedy, a half season of him.

I'll bet by the end of the series, Beltran was wishing for the days when he was climbing around Vasquez Rocks with Aron Eisenberg.

He's lucky Aaron didn't bury him in a shallow grave out there.

The Captain doesn't have to be the lead or the focus, Chakotay could have been given the big chair and they still could have made it the Tom and Harry show. Besides, with the ensemble cast as it was, the argument could be made that no one in modern Trek was THE STAR in the same way that Shatner was.

Janeway died and came back at least 15 times in Coda.

I think it would be interesting between Tuvok and Chakotay
You can make a story arc how the crew would react who would be the next captain.

Didn't we have that pretty much in Resolutions? Even Harry Kim rebelled against Tuvok, demonstrated a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome and a need to return to his tormentor Janeway.

As I see it, no one should have been dumped.

I'm really happy that they didn't kill off Janeway and that we never had to stand a lot of bickering and fighting between Starfleet and Maquis. You just have to watch the sleeping pill Stargate Universe and the constant bickering and fighting between the characters to see what I mean.

But I'm glad they didn't go with Genevieve Bujold. :p

I actually quite like Genevieve Bujold and if she would have put any effort into it; I think she would have made a great Captain.

She had even less delivery oomph than the Elizabeth character on SG:A and that's saying a lot.

I only saw one episode of the Men in Black cartoon, but I recognised her voice immediately.

Has Lien been to any conventions recently. The last thing I heard about her was that she was arrested in July of last year. Of course no one reported it other than one site with a mug shot (And there was a thread here about it) but I'm really hoping she's doing well and maybe even turning her life around. It seems like each year I see a photo of her, something worse is happening.

You have to wonder if she got back with her husband?

He threw her in the pokey.

    Like that's forgiveable.

The atomization of her marriage, and subsequent legal demands, might mean she has to get down in on the convention circuit... Although, if she's smart, Jennifer won't start "earning" till after the divorce is finalized, otherwise she has to give her bloke half of everything.

Yeah, Shatner had that problem. His divorce was started while the show was in production, and the alimony and child support were based on his earnings at that time. When the divorce was final, he was scrounging for work doing dinner theatre around the country and staying in his camper rather than a hotel.

Wait, there was more to the Arrest story? Care to tell more?
