Ok you may loosely call it literature, but for you completists out there, Star Magazine is devoting a whole issue to ST. I just saw it at the store, but didn't buy, so it's contents are a mystery to me. RAMA
I actually got my very first look at the TNG cast and the Enterprise-D in a two-page spread in a copy of Star I swiped from my grandma in '87.
I'm working my way through it in the bathroom right now. It's been pretty enjoyable so far. It starts off with a feature on the first trailer for ID, and then after that is a history of the franchise. That's as far as I've made it so far. In the bit about TNG it says Ridley Scott and John McTiernan were both offered the opportunity to direct First Contact. Is that true?
I have a copy of Geek with Trek in it, my first ever of the mag. I noticed Trekmovie has an article about the Star collectible issue. C.E.: Yes, I still have the Star article in a scrapbook somewhere. Oddly enough Star was only the 3rd magazine where I had seen STNG mentioned at the time. Star also had an article that stated STVI had an exploding planet start the movie as well. First time I saw that. It's been a long time since Trek has had this much publicity.
I tried to find this magazine at one of our local stores without any luck today. What type of articles do they have about Ds9 or Enterprise in this magazine?
Nothing specifically about them. Other than a couple things about Into Darkness, the rest of it is articles cover the franchise as a whole, although most of them do feature all of the series at least a little bit.
JD thanks for the information about the magazine articles.I hope to find a copy of this magazine soon.
