I know exactly what will happen; the bad guys will turn up in big spaceships, Kirk will be arrogant but learn his lesson and Spock will lose his temper and beat someone up.

    Ad infinitum

Save the Borg for the TNG reboot, which will never happen.

No, the idea is to open up Star Trek to a wider audience, to make the franchise profitable, to make more money. This idea has succeeded.

Since they were created during season two of TNG by one of Roddenberry's buddies, shouldn't they be considered Roddenberry-Trek villains? :p

I voted no. I think the Tzenkethi should be the villain.

Exactly. If Trek fans don't care about Random Cat Aliens, how will everybody else know?

The Borg were fine on TNG, it was VOY that overused them to death by having them appear multiple times per season.

FC screwed up the Borg before VOY touched them.

He probably is. Doing something else would require taking a chance and the pale white Khan is firmly rooted in the safe zone.

Yeah. How dare they continue with a character and actor performance that general audiences actually enjoyed?

Yes, how dare a reboot take familiar characters and concepts and do something different with them. It's not like other franchise reboots have ever done that, oh wait, THEY ALL HAVE. The Borg are my favorite ST alien race. I'd love to see how they'd look with today's technology/effects. Also, it would be something new since TOS crew has never encountered the Borg before. We know that Kirk would handle them much differently than Picard or Janeaway did.
