I hope this counts. I photoshopped it a few years ago and it still brings a tear to my eyes.

^That is adorable! I don't have a picture of it, but when I was 5 my own tuxedo cat, Edwin Meese, disappeared. This was the 80s, and puffy paint tee shirts were really popular. I made a bunch of LOST CAT tee shirts with pictures and descriptions of Edwin on them. All my siblings, even my wonderful teenage brothers and sisters, wore them to school.

Your siblings sound like very nice people.

I put up posters, had his details put on the Pet Patrol on the radio, put details on the Web, put pamphlets in letterboxes, knocked on doors, searched the bushland near our home for weeks but never found out what happened to him. He disappeared after my son's girlfriend, who was living with us at the time, left the front door open.

It's heartbreaking, isn't it? It was the same with Edwin; though I've just realized I must have been 6, and not 5 when this happened, because he disappeared after we moved to a knew house. I had an intense bond with Edwin. He followed me around everywhere and slept with me at night. I was devastated when he was lost.

After a couple of months of my continuing grief, my mother brought home a little tuxedo kitten. She told me its name was Minnie Meese, and that she was Edwin's baby. She said that since he couldn't come back to me, he wanted me to look after Minnie.

It was a very sweet story to tell a grieving 6 year old, and I believed it completely. I didn't even give it a second thought until I was 18, and mentioned something about Minnie being Edwin's kitten. It wasn't until I said it out loud that I realized how ridiculous it was and that I no longer believed it!

My nephew, when we took him to Sherwood Fair last year. He is indeed very "silver" in this photo.

Me and my best friend were camping at Hove. It was an awesome trip. playing WoW on the rainy days, watching Star Trek Enteprise while drinking wine and whiskey and singing along to that horrible theme song as loud as we dared.

    Next up! Monkey business!

Dexter's favourite monkey holding up his photo after Dexter went missing. Out of my 50
odd toy monkeys this was the only one Dexter was interested in. He would pick it out of a pile and drag it around the house by its leg. It was about twice as long as him.

I may have mentioned around here before that my mother was exploring religion when I was a kid. As a result we spent 5 years as Jews. This is a beautiful picture of my little sister lighting the menorah:

ETA: Man, I haven't looked at that in years. I just got real nostalgic for the Jewish Years.
