Justin Bieber is 19 years old. He's old enough to vote, so he's old enough to be held accountable for what he says. He's not "Suzy" and her hand painted picture.
Oh, get serious. You know as well as I do he's a couple of cats wearing a mask, and Saturday morning cartoons have never steered me wrong. Suzy's a poser anyway. She outsourced that painting to Tommy, who traded it for a wheat penny and some tic tacs. Seriously, though, it's just that he's a 19 year old kid, who wrote something he felt was positive and meaningful. It was, no way, intended to be anything negative. What happens? The internet explodes in outrage. It's absurdity. The Anne Frank house isn't upset about it. In fact, they seem happy about the whole thing.
Unless Justin is an idiot, he wants everyone to like his music, and buy each album at least twice. Once for themselves and another from a friend. Other random historical figures Justine hopes would have been fans. Julius Caesar. Betsy Ross. J. Robert Oppenheimer. Pochahontas Susan B Anthony Magellan. Neil Armstrong. Annie Oakley Catherine the Great Annette Funicello Marie Antoinette. Bob Hope.
Actually, yes. It's all over CNN, MSNBC, TMZ, Facebook, Twitter, etc. It seems people have nothing better to do. Ever.
It is an expression. No, the internet has not engaged in a total collapse initiated by an internal or external force, but Justin Bieber and the Anne Frank House incident is all over the news and social media. I thank you for your patronage.
Someday when I am super famous my quote in this thread about liking Bieber's music more than most people will be on the back of every one of his CD's. I will be the laughing stock of stupid people and I will revel in it.
I like Justin Bieber, too. I think he's a pretty good guy. He's taken some missteps lately, but I want him to succeed. He's a decent person. I like it when decent people succeed. Only in certain ways.
This is a great showcase of his actual voice and my current fave. And no it is not the little drummer boy song. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GuqB1BQVr4[/yt] I do think the video itself looks totally ridiculous with a high school kid crawling all over the model but pfft.. great voice and a great song.
Joss Whedon just now on getting an MTV movie award for Avengers: "We're humbled, no we're not, what's the opposite of humbled? We're Beibered to be here tonight."
Agreed. I have no use at all for his music - none - (sorry J. and teacake), but I think people are being silly and overreacting to a poorly thought-out but harmless faux pas. That said... Oh snap.
