Thank you so much auntiehill! I will definitely look into these! I think we'll start with the 2 person games until we get into it again (and until we cultivate a few more friends who like board games!) Thanks again!
A group of friends and I have been gathering and playing board games the first Sunday of every month for about two years now. Some of our Favorites: Pandemic: really fun and instead of competing, you work as a team. Flash Point Fire Rescue: Similar to Pandemic, but you are fighting an advancing fire and rescuing people A Ticket to Ride: You build a rail empire. This one took "Game of the Year" a few years back. You will also want to check out an internet site called "Geek and Sundry" for ideas. One of the shows they have there is called "TableTop" and hosted by Wil Wheaton. They play and review board games.
Word Thief. It's not technically a board game, but it's sort of like Scrabble, with cards instead of tiles and a board.
A trash can. My old trash one was fine, but the lid disappeared. Yes, I had attached it to the can with wire, but eventually the wire broke, and the March wind came along.... I wish I could find a place that sells lids separately.
^He beat me to it. Search YouTube for "TableTop Episode" and watch 'em all. That's where a lot of my time went this weekend actually. The show is a lot of fun, and a great way to get a feel for a game before you put out the money. Wil picks a nice variety of board games, RPGs, card/dice games, etc. For each episode, he invites 3 of his friends (often people you know from TV or the Internet like Colin Ferguson and Felicia Day), and they all sit around and play the game. It's edited into a fun little half-hour. I'm kinda hooked. Of course, the fact that I've become a Wheaton groupie doesn't help any.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I look forward to checking out some TableTop episodes very soon! Cheers!

I thought I'd add a picture of my newest purchase so here he is! His name is Cal (short for Caledonia), he's 8 and a half weeks and absolutely full of mischief!
