OK, looking back at my last few entries I realize we've been dealing with some (potentially) dark topics in the contest of late. Time to lighten it up. 3000 words(roughly, I don't think the Word Police are watching) about something as far from Starfleet as you can get. That's right, we're going to delve into-*drumroll, queue spotlight* POP CULTURE! Write about pop culture in the Star Trek era(s)-about their version of Tom Hanks, Charles Barkley, Brittany Spears, etc ad nauseum. I've always been curious about what kind of talent rises to the top of the Federation or other Alpha Quadrant societies. Who gets chased by 23rd century paparazzi? Who gets invited to Opening Night, 24th century style? One interesting point to consider-with the advent of modern electronic records, what older entertainment/pop culture icons survive into the future? Good luck, all, and remember all of us who entered last month-whether it fits this challenge or not, we all owe our readers a cliff-hanger resolution!
You know, at first I wasn't thinking I'd have any way to enter this...but a lightbulb finally went off in my head. The question's going to be the execution--we'll see!
Well doubt I can weave Charlie and the cliffhanger resolution into this, so I'll just have to do two seperate stories

I think it's a terrific challenge idea and if I wasn't so swamped I would definitely give this a shot. I'd love to find out what people come up with though.
I'm going to try and write something. I'm involved in a pretty fast-moving round robin over at Ad Astra, but I do think I have an idea in my head for this and I've already sketched out the bare bones for it. Hopefully I can get it in in time, but we'll see.
I can't believe I actually have something for this contest. I just spent the better part of the night writing it. I'll have to polish it a bit but it's finished.

Well its done, just need to try and shave another 80 words off (though Mistral did say he wouldn't be too strict about the word length) and then will get it posted. Nearly did it last night but I was knackered!
