I'm not so sure because I didn't get a chance to test season 7.

Hmmm that was the only season I ever tested, except for going into Tribble to look around since the new UI appeared.

Well anyway, keep your eyes open for Aidoann if you want some company doing things.

Ok, it's awesome! Approaching Suliban helix. Love they are making an appearance.

AND...! OMG! Just went to visit my bridge and went into my ready room... when you approach the desk holo-consoles pop up out of the desk, very super cool. Great touch!

I love the backstory of D'Tan trying to unite the Romulans and Remans against Sela and the Tal Shiar. With such a great story it makes no sense for us to have to choose a side at level 10 and not be able to work together as Romulans.

If we have to choose a side, fine. But let Romulans work with Romulans, despite that choice.

Actually it sounds like regardless of which faction you ally with you're position within the Romulan Republic is neutral or something meaning you are still on friendly terms with other Republic members despite faction alliances, which is why when I make my choice I'm just going to pretend the rest of the Romulan Republic made the same choice.

Engineering is pretty awesome looking too. I do like the way they introduce you to your initial bridge crew, and as much as I liked having complete control over them on my previous characters, I think I prefer the story focused approach you get with the Romulans.

Oh, and Hakeev's ship should look somewhat familiar to you once you reach him. Was pretty surprised they actually got to use such a similar design to be honest.

What really impressed me was how you sought out and recruited your bridge officers.

You know I just though of something, Cloaked Intentions actually would work as Romulan Republic missions since your basically fighting you're factions enemies and it even has an added epic final confrontation feel since this is the big showdown with the Tal Shiar. In fact the only thing that wouldn't work is the your superiors not wanting to back Obisek against the Tal Shiar since the Romulan Republic is already at war with them and is trying to team up with the Remans.

Yeah. That's how Fed and KDF should have worked from the beginning.
Also those little Personal Storys you can follow up on in later Missions give the boffs sind much needed depth. I almost don't want to customize the boffs, because they are characters in their own right already and Not blank pets.

As far as I know you do get to play 'Cloaked Intentions' as a member of the Romulan Republic, it's the last republic story arc before you get access to all the other Featured Episodes.

They had already made changes to the end for Federation and Klingon characters, adding in Sela and connecting her more closely to Hakeev, on test so I'd imagine the Romulan Republic version will also have differences aside from that.

Ok... ROFL! So I visited my main engineering, wow! First of all my quantum singularity looks very UNSAFE! I don't even want to stand next to it! Then! LOL! I looked down! I could not resist. The Romulan equivalent of engineering choppy crushy spinning things has this deep deep hole, I had to, jumped in and was totally stuck, its super deep.

It's the unsafest engineering in the galaxy, beware! ;)

Lot of rage on the official forums about the BOff arrangement on the D'Deridex. Basically, it's the seating set-up of the Galaxy, with a 5.5 turn rate.

But I really think it will be far more viable than the Galaxy, because of the battle cloak and the effects of the singularity. In fact, these Romulan ships seem to need piloting style outside of the existing boxes, and I think that's great. I'm really looking forward to playing these, and getting a different experience in the game.

Problem with the D'deridex is pretty much the problem with a lot of fed cruisers.

Cruisers generally rely on shield and hull tanking. To make them viable at DPS, one must be lost. Now for PvE this isn't a problem but for PvP this will geneally mean you're cannon fodder for escorts. The upcoming changes to emergency power to shields is going to make this quite an issue for cruisers, since they'll have large drop in shield resistance and regen for 5 seconds, which is more than enough time for an escort or an alpha-striking bird of prey.

Escorts and sci-ships on the other hand are less reliant on emergency power to shields, with some being able to hull, shield and speed tank.

This all basically compounds the D'deridex's problems and makes it solely desirable for RP or an Romulan engineer who wants a healer build.

Personally I'm holding out for a Mogai, even though the D'Deridex is the ship I like the most aesthetically.
