Arguably, my favorite ENT episode. Upon first viewing, it reminded me of "City on the Edge of Forever"... not the plot, just the flavor [for lack of a better word]. Sorry, post-operative meds are destroying my vocabulary... and what few brain cells I have left.:alienblush:

    "Bem" TAS
"Charlie X" TOS on Me-TV tonight

Charlie should have just been ambushed with phasers on full stun. Then kept unconscious by McCoy.

    Charlie X (TOS).

The editors really did a hatchet job on this one. Every single cut was completely noticable.

I also watched some Enterprise this past week as well:

    Fight or Flight (ENT).
    Strange New World (ENT).
    Unexpected (ENT).
    Terra Nova (ENT).
    The Andorian Incident (ENT).
    Breaking the Ice (ENT).

It's always a hatchet job anymore. When I was a kid in the eighties a syndicated rerun of TOS ran 46 minutes, 30 seconds (or thereabouts) without commercials. When the show moved to Sci-Fi in 1998 we got completely unedited "Special Editions" for a while that were given a special ninety-minute time slot to accomodate the whole original episode as first aired on NBC as well as all the commercial time the network wanted to run.

When the Special Editions stopped airing, Sci-Fi cut the episodes from 50 minutes and change down to a very truncated 43 minutes, 30 seconds give or take, slashing almost seven minutes' worth of content out of every single episode and treating "The Cage" even more harshly since the original unaired pilot ran more than an hour.

The MeTV edits of the show tend to follow the 43.5-minute format, and the cuts are often embarrassingly obvious and irritating to anybody who's seen the uncut episodes or even the older syndicated edits from the '70s through the '90s. It can be pretty bad sometimes. Just one more reason I'm glad I have DVDs and BluRays and access to Netflix.
