Saved by the fucking awesome Superman belt buckle! Nothing can save my dad (and yes, that's me). The sad part is this wasn't the 70s, but holdover. On second thought, his nikes are kinda bitchin':
If we're talking 1970's, here's one of me from back in the first half of the decade: And going back to the early 60's, my parents. Cool shades, I think you'll agree.
I love old pictures of young people. Your dad looks pretty damn cool with that hair and those shades. I don't have very many photographes dating before the 80s, but I do have a couple of my grandfather. This would have been about the same time period, early to mid 60's, probably on a reservation. My mom looks a lot like him, and so did my older brother.
Nice! Yeah, my dad was cool for a time. Then me and my sister came along and ruined everything! I think I've posted this before, but here's me from 1990 or thereabouts:
Awesome nostalgic photos, all. Here's one of my dad looking a tad bit like a mustachioed John Hodgman ... long before a mustachoied John Hodgman, lol:
In case you can't see it, she is holding a ray gun behind her back. When I saw that, I told my friend, "I love that she is technologically advanced enough to be carrying a gun, but she's still running around without clothes on." Apparently it's really hot on her desert planet.
^ That is awesome. All this nostalgia had me digging through my photo albums and trying to get my crappy scanner to work. SO...here are a few shots of my teenage bedroom. And yes, that last one is from a Polaroid, because I am indeed THAT old. My mother told me I could decorate my room in our new house any way I wanted, as long as I kept it clean. BOY, did she regret that. All of those photos are held up with at least four thumbtacks a piece. The sign on the bathroom door was made by a friend. It reads "The Mental Ward." For obvious reasons.
Hot damn, is this thread full of Bonus Win this evening. Outstanding job, guys. It's like a glorious little time machine.
I just want to thank everyone for making me feel old now, and thank goodness I'm not trying to relive any of the old fashions. What the hell were we thinking with some of those styles?
I used to have a couple of skinny ties. Don't know for certain if I still own them or not. Most of my ties are "normal" sized with fun and colorful designs, sports teams and TV, film and animated characters.
Hey, I've got cool 70s pictures too! How about some 80s? Or 90s. You can really see the beginning of the end of my hair in the last one.
I guess I can kind of see that. I'm at work right now so I don't have access to the original photo, but here's a picture of my Dad when he was young in one of the very first PhotoShop jobs I ever did.
