[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LipcAZzXGw4[/yt] Finally got around to listening to Richie Edward's final lyrics. The last two songs on the album (this one and William's last words) are quite powerful, although they're very different.
MSP have been on a roll recently, after the lacklustre (yet inexplicably massive selling) material they started putting out after Edwards disappeared, the last 3 albums have all been fantastic. Although I was surprised to learn that they have never placed a single album on the Billboard top 200.
Damn it, I´ve got this old song (Johnny Blue) in my head at the moment and just cannot get rid of it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq_HvuKStso&feature=related (About a blind boy, who gets teased by the other children. They ask him "What colour has the sun?", then he learns to play guitar and the children start to listen to his music and like it and in the end he gives concerts and everybody loves him and his songs give light in the dark lifes off other people.) I thought Everything Must Go (the song, at least if not the album) was solid. Different, but still solid. It doesn't surprise me. Their most impressive stuff wouldn't have mass appeal. I mean nothing beats Holy Bible, but I could never see widespread commercial success for that.

Joachim Witt: Silberblick, this song: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZjCB-cOdpw[/yt] It's part of my Vinyl Friday™ - 2010 X-mas Edition-thread here in misc. Neue Deutsche Welle might have been 'dissed', a lot, but it did open the scene to a lot of very interestilng performers!
I'm contemplating putting on my Wish You Were Here album to listen to that exact track -as part of my Vinyl Friday™ thread
