He's quite talented. I watched "A Fistfull of Datas" recently, not a great episode, but obviously fun for Spiner. One scene that kind of struck me was when Data is in engineering and Geordi has him hooked up, and Data is talking to Riker. He starts a sentence in his Texas drawl and by the end of the sentence he is talking almost in his normal voice, but the transition between the 2 accents is so gradual and smooth, really pretty amazing.

Saw it yesterday. Yes, it's uncanny - not to mention hilarious.

Another great example of his talent is the episode "Brothers." The bulk of the episode is a conversation between 2 (and later 3) different characters, all played by the same guy and it's very believable.

He's definitely a talented guy. I wish more casting directors would use him.

Very good. Pity we don't see more of him. Last thing I saw him in was Independence Day. I think I quite like the fact he has gone grey gracefully. :)

I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting him in Vegas last weekend and talking to him at some length. He and Jonathan Frakes are convinced that if TNG were ever resurrected as an animated series they could do it without Sir Patrick (who expressed no interest in an animated TNG).

I always thought that Spiner could do Picard's voice as well as Data's in an animated series...

I would agree. I actually just wrote a blog about that. And, since Sir Patrick expressed no interest in voicing Picard in any TNG animated series, it seems like Brent Spiner could fill in nicely.
