Around the 50 minute mark, in a fight scene is TOS "Kirk fight scene" music. And a Gandalf quote. And a Jerry Lewis quote.

    Did I miss others?

I kinda enjoyed it, it wasnt the defining moment of TV for sure, but it was fun.....
felt like i was watching WH13, Eureka, and White Collar rolled up in one, with a Star Trek tribute(plus some others that were lost on me)

    I said out, dammit!
The posterizing effect didn't really make me think "video game," it made me think "comic book."

Of course making a full game-like CGI environment and CGI characters would have been a wee bit too expensive for a TV show.

I guffawed loudly and heartily when the "Amok Time" music kicked in . . . .

It made me think "Crap Photoshop 'comic book effect' tutorial".

"Stargate" did it. And if they were going for a video-game look, they could certainly have animated it using a game engine - like "South Park."

Well ... that was the worst episode of W13 in recent memory. Although I did like Fargo's "Agh! She's back!" at the end. I have the impression everyone involved thought it would be good, light-hearted fun, but it tripped and fell flat on its face. Plus, even though it was written by Ian Stokes, it felt like the writer was a jilted 22-year-old suffering from PMS and a shortage of dark chocolate.

A lot of jokes about boobs, that's for sure.

I liked the mention of Mythbuster.

I got a kick out of the Star Trek action music. Good stuff. :D

I'm sure there were a lot of other homages that I can't quite think of right now. Pete is always making pop culture references.

The filter effect was a nice way of making the game sequences look otherworldly, but I'm glad they had the B-Plot to break it up. And, unlike Fargo, I think Claudia looks just fine without enhancements. :mallory:

I'm currently trying to decide if the 'self' Scagliotti presents in interviews and what not is real or not. If it isn't, then I'm pretty much done. If it is real ... well let's just I'm pretty much done. Though, she does like Ayn Rand, but maybe that's just a Canadian thing.

Haha I liked this episode a lot. At first I thought it was too goofy but I also picked up on the various homages and began to like it.

Allison Scagliotti is from the US. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "the 'self' Scagliotti presents in interviews"?

Yeah, I've never seen any interviews. I don't know what this means.

    She's basically Claudia.

So what I meant was, is she still acting or really being herself?

She was keeping a vlog on the WH13 website. IDK if it's still there.

Maybe she's one of those actors who basically always plays herself. That's cool. I like Claudia.
