Wouldn't the best news ever be Christopher Nolan directing it? :p

First the Star Wars news, and now this. I think this is the best Hollywood news day in a very long time.

If only they had saved the King Conan news for today as well.

This has been a huge news day. I'm glad Singer's back. He's been wanting to return since First Class. Glad they were finally able to work out the deal.

Singer was THE perfect choice to step in as director, so I'm glad they were able to finalize the deal for him to do so.

Awesome news. I was bummed out when Vaughn bowed out but this makes up for it.

This also means as JacksonArcher pointed out to me, that John Ottman could return to score the film :)

I loved his Superman Returns score. The way he expanded on the classic John Williams themes was pure mastery.

I hope John Ottman returns, which I'm fairly sure he will, since he composes almost every movie Bryan Singer does. I loved his X2 score, so I'm over the moon.

I wonder if part of the reason Vaughn left was to hand it off to Singer? Obviously he had other options which lead to this. But knowing that the guy who was originally going to direct the last movie, was also a producer, could take over would have made it an easier decision to leave.

I doubt that. I have a feeling Mark Millar is going to be responsible for the reason why Vaughn left. The two are tight, and he has been attached to direct one of Millar's projects "Secret Service" for a while now. The fact is that we have no idea right now why Vaughn decided to leave right now, what is strange about this to me is that I was under the impression that he dropped directing "Kick-Ass 2" to fully concentrate on directing and co-writing "X-Men Days of Future Past". All of a sudden Mark Millar signs his consulting deal with Fox, and a little while later Vaughn departs the project.

^Will Miller's role for Fox not mean that he has some creative involvement in this movie?

Vaughn is overrated, in my opinion. Kick-Ass was anything but and First Class was an exercise in box ticking. I'm glad Singer is back.

I agree on Kick-Ass but I think he brought a lot to the table for First Class. Plus, Layer Cake and Stardust were excellent films.
