Very nice work, as always, Sir Forbin !! *zoinks* Is that something of a 'dazzle paint' type scheme for the USS Masao? Very nicely done. As for the USS WtF, love both it and the name. *laugh* It reminds me of the cobbled together Phoenix aircraft from the Flight of the Phoenix story... Maybe something like that is how it came to be? Cheers, -CM-
Hey Forbin, That ship gave me an idea for a TOS frigate... I took the liberty to manipulate a bit the orthos that you posted, to show what I´m thinking. Hope you don´t mind. If you don´t like it, just let me know and I´ll delete this post. TOP view: BOTTOM VIEW
I´m not in 50, but almost there (47). After a quick search, I found the series you´re talking about, and finally remembered to have watched a few episodes in the middle of 70´s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_West_%28TV_series%29 So... Bruce can be the captain.
MASAO plan view. I'll probably skip the bottom view and move on to something else now. I'm not sticking to one ship at a time. Gets dull.
I draw them from scratch, personally. And yeah, I use pre-existing blueprints to trace from, then add my own little flair to it.
The Starfleet Sign painter was on a bender the night before Any chance of seeing a Ventral view for this beauty.
Not if my damn website provider has kicked the plug out on their way out for the weekend again! GAH! Their server is down almost as much as it's up.
http://www.1and1.com Look for "My Website Personal" - starts at $4.99 a month. I use them for my site and there's virtually never any down time.
Ha! Just in time to save the thread from the depths of the second page. USS VAL'WALO: (Upper - complete ship; lower: saucer separated, and foreground engine omitted to show hull). This was a tough one, since it wasn't bashed from Enterprise parts that I could trace from existing plans. Had to actually loft this from the model. Here's the model, bashed from a Gundam Val-Walo: http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_valwalo.html Now for the top view. (Oy.)
Here's a sample one of the (very few) finished 2-page spreads from the tech manual in progress. At the moment it's at 82 pages, and the PDF version is about 190MB
