Unthinkable that Houston is the favorite to get the #1 seed in the AFC right now. And that Arizona is battling Atlanta for the other one...

Yeah, like going out for drinks the night before a game.

Or they got St. Looies O-Line drunk and switched places with them.

Just infuriating refereeing right now in the Pats/Ravens game. Phantom calls, followed up by blatant non-calls, really screwing with how the game is going. Even bad officiating would be fine, as long as it was consistent. These guys are all over the place...

Way to go, live tv. No way for the sound engineer to mute the chants of "bullshit!"

Wow... they're just gonna keep on chanting.

Of course, probably the least-arguable call they are keying on there. Just a matter of whether it was illegal contact or pass interference, I guess...

I really hope the "bullshit" chants continue as long as the NFL insists on having these worthless scrub refs in place. Not gonna be able to edit those out on live TV.

Fuck...Baltimore just ended my chance of winning my confidence pool this week (assuming the Packers win tomorrow).

The sports shows are going to have an absolute field day with all the shitty calls in this week's games.

Yeah, fuck Baltimore. Nuke that entire city to glass at this point.

BTW, has there been any reports about talks between the league and the refs?

Good. Hopefully more fans keep chanting it as long as these scrub refs are around.

During the Sunday night game, the commentators indicated that the league and the refs were still far apart on some aspects.

The only other thing I've heard about is that letter the league sent to the owners, coaches and players telling them to respect the game and lay off the scrub refs. How dare the people on the field disrespect the game by questioning the replacement refs! I can't believe the NFL could issue such an edict with a straight face.

    1) Preach player safety and make more plays fineable.
    2)Lockout the expensive, qualified refs.
    3)????
    4)Profit!!!

I think it's interesting seeing what's happened the last couple weeks with the refereeing, how good the experienced referees really are.

I'm not exactly a shining example of good sportsmanship in that regard either, but maybe it'll lead to a little more patience/tolerance for honest mistakes in the future when/if the old refs come back.

Well, there was the 15 yard penalty on John Harbaugh for trying to give the refs a hard time (he claimed he was just trying to get their attention to call a timeout). Either way, things are bad right now.

I wouldn't put to much stock in anything right now, we're only three weeks into the season. I'm a Texan fan myself, and I don't buy the hype. It's nice the Texans are now a respectable team and all, but there's still a LOT of football to be played. And there's no way Arizona stays on top for to long, and likewise the Saints will come alive start beating people up very soon.

No way AZ stays on top for long? Their next three games: home against the Dolphins, at St. Louis, and home against Minnesota. Then it gets tougher, but they seem like a decent team from what I've seen of them this year.

The Saints are kind of a rudderless mess. A trip to GB is up for them next, and I think that Saints defense is going to be just what the doctor ordered for our sputtering offense if we still don't quite have it together against Seattle tonight.
