Considering you started this thread thinking that the movie was going to open on the 13th of May...
(and had abut three interventions during it)

I wouldn't be too distraught if I were you. :p

Thank you, BTW, for making the wait just a bit more tolerable.

In one week's time, God willing and the creek don't rise, I will have seen it.

It's going to be a busy week, as in addition to my job I will be getting ready for my vacation (holiday for you UK people) that starts on the 17th. I'm glad I'm seeing an early evening show on the 16th, that means I should get a good night's sleep before my flight on Friday afternoon. Unless, of course, I'm so jazzed up by the movie that I stay up replaying it in my head.

^I saw it early and was buzzing all day. I'm surprised I managed to sleep!
    :lol:You're welcome.

Not too shabby. I'm still pretty much spoiler-free. I am both pretty happy and amazed at that. Just one more week....

You and me both bbailey! (I choose to believe that the things I heard at work are speculation. So, nope, no spoilers for me!)

I have reduced my time surfing the BBS, and when I come to this forum I come sraight here. I have looked at the graphic in the grading thread, but that is it.

I can't wait to be able to join that thread and catch up on all of the comments!

Well, I have not really been much of a forum regular. I'm hoping to jump into the discussions once I have seen STID.

If I have time in the coming week, I might spin up my copy of ST 2009. No guarantees though.

and I just can't hide it...

I've been sooooo careful about avoiding Spoilers around here...
    (and on the internetz)

Then this morning some idiot in the STO Forums posts a MAJOR plot point in a thread title...

I share your pain. But rest assured, there are a LOT of surprises in store. The film was very different to what I was expecting, and I'd seen all the trailers and been spoiled on one pretty big thing by a douchebag too!

About 101 hours to go for me and my movie buddy Michelle. :)

As an aside, I printed out my ticket at home when I bought it on Fandango three weeks ago. More recently I discovered a mobile ticket for the same purchase had been placed in the Fandango app on my iPad. I've half a mind to have the ticket taker scan the mobile ticket (since I've never tried that option before, and hey, it's a very Trekky piece of technology) and just have the paper ticket as a backup.

I also saw a potential spoiler on YouTube, in a comment from someone I was following on there. Have no idea if it is true but I dropped the guy from my subscriptions like a hot potato.

I agree, I went in thinking the worst because of how a lot of the trailers and promo material set it up i.e. the orange, grimdark guns with leather jackets part was only a small part of the movie and was pretty cool.

Yes. I made the conscious decision to view all accidental spoilers I have heard as sheer speculation, not actual fact from people who have already seen the movie. It may be wishful thinking, but it makes me happy!

Hubby and I tried to buy tickets for Friday, but so far you can only buy tickets for the price -gouging screen at the theatre ( it boasts bigger seats, better sound, and you can reserve your seat. None of this s worth the extra $5.00 surcharge per ticket). I'll try again mid-week!

I'm glad that those of you who have seen it enjoyed it!

I read the spoilers in the initial thread and still really enjoyed it, I thought it was gonna be total crap after reading the spoilers but its much better on screen.
