http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012...ondson-to-reunite-in-hooligans-island-on-bbc2 Yay! Let's hope they can keep up the quality though.... the Hooligan's Island stage show was merely OK...
I love the show, it was dark and unrelentingly downbeat, and very funny. I enjoyed the first stage show, I was less keen on the next 2 stage shows, and I didn't see 4 & 5. I think the shows are just too long, it was good for a novelty for the first one, but it doesn't really work that well in that format IMO. I will watch a new TV show though, definitely. 30 minutes is the right sort of length to watch two guys beating the crap out of each other.
Was this the stage show with the 'le danger, le nuclear bomb' sign? I watched it on VHS many years ago.
I was just coming here to post this. I don't know whether to be excited by the prospect or go off on a whinge about creativity being dead and scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
Richie and Eddie back on the screen can only been a good thing. Reading up more on this I see there was a 4th series planned and written but never got made. Wouldn't mind seeing that.
Maybe all the free beer he must be getting fuelled the idea... Bottom was great fun; it will be interesting to see how the characters lives have (presumably failed to) move on. And of course, to see what torment might be inflicted with a frying pan, a 12V battery and a pair of wire hangers...
The series has been shelved. Apparently so they can work on other things... and because they "Realised why we stopped working together." http://www.metro.co.uk/tv/915133-bottom-reunion-series-shelved-reveals-adrian-edmondson
Oh well, better an amicable parting than an uninspired series. Though if it was an inimical parting, they could have just filmed that as an episode instead.
I'd rather they shelve it than try to go ahead with it and end up having a massive falling out. It would be reflected in the quality of the show, and the last thing Bottom needs is its own Back To Earth.
