He was saying that she was an idiot as a joke because she clearly isn't, which may or may not have been flirting. All telling a woman that she is too pretty to do anything important or complicated gets a bloke normally is a kick in the nuts. I'm been watching some Greatest American Hero, and Connie Sellecca is almost always about to about to take a baseball bat to Robert Culp's knees everytime he opens his mouth about a woman's place, and her role in their little Scoobie Gang.

That's pretty close. In an early episode she was talking to her husband, she mentioned that they had to prepay the corporations for the right to have a child, and the child would still have to deal with a life debt down the line anyway like anyone else. How do they stop the poor from having children? Maybe this is one of the reasons decitizenship is necessary?

Can someone just shoot Julian? He's the most annoying character on the show and nothing about him suggests anyone would ever listen to him, let alone follow him. He's a leader because the show says he's a leader.

Short answer no. Long answer... Spoiler The hung him. Wussed out. Cut him down. Banished him. He came back 2 episodes later. Been tortured for a week by the grounders. Missing some finger nails. A couple hours later blood starts pissing out of everyones eyes. He hadn't escaped. They let him go, after infecting Julian with a vicious strain of meningitis to fuck up the 100 before the Grounders attacked enforce the following day.
People are only following him because they've heard from other people (who know what he's like when he's old) that he is the one to follow. Yes? He got cast as boy messiah.
Julian's rhetoric is his fathers rhetoric. He spent years listening to his father fight the corporations until they finally killed him. (We saw daddy setting up a grass roots meeting in season one.) Julian does have the back ground and the training and the philosophy at hand to be Theseus. He's just been brought into play a couple years early before he has completely his own voice. Did Julian write a book in prison? (I'm thinking about Baltar.) It is odd that the normal people from present day know that he is worth following. Although the building Nagame blew up was full of assholes fucking with antitrust which gave Julian a pinch of credibility. Does he know? He's gone apeshit about people using the wrong tenses around him at least twice, but he really hasn't connected that dot with timetravel, more so than crazy people... Has he? Although Julian did spend a lot of time with Lucas while that porky futurian was off his meds pretending to be Nagame giving him orders to scare everyone and then fumble at the last minute, to win the long game. He's not completely useless.
