The most important question I have is this.

What will be released first on home video? Song of the South? Or the Star Wars Holiday Special?

Population of Earth over 7 Billion. Sure people in the storm area will have suffered damage and will have repercussions but that's not the same as saying most people.

Some more info on io9 (which is using a substitute site while repairing hurricane damage, so this link may be temporary):
So there's already a treatment for the whole new trilogy. I wonder how long Lucas has been sitting on it, or alternatively, how much he's revised it over the past 30 years.

Of course, the best possible news is that Lucas is going to retire and not write or direct the new films.

Hmmm, what about The Clone Wars? Will Cartoon Network keep the rights to air it?

No reason why not, unless Disney chooses to buy out Cartoon Network's licensing contract. It's hardly unprecedented for a show owned by one corporation to air on a network owned by another -- for instance, Warner Bros.'s Fringe airing on FOX. There are advantages to having your own corporation's show on your own corporation's network, but it's certainly not mandatory.

I'm guessing Clone Wars is in jeopardy.

Didn't the purchase of Marvel mean the premature end of Spectacular Spider-man as well as Wolverine & the X-Men?

Yes to ILM and LucasArts; no to THX (it's been independent since 2001).

Other Lucasfilm subsidiaries that Disney will now own:

    • Skywalker Sound
    • Lucas Licensing
      • Lucas Learning
    • Lucas Books
    • Lucasfilm Animation
      • Lucasfilm Animation Singapore
    • Lucas Marketing
    • Lucas Online

Bob Iger said something about liking Star Wars on TV, and it being perfect for DisneyXD. They wrap up TCW with S5 and use it as a jumping off point to continue that idea on DisneyXD, same animation style, same creative team under Filoni, probably picks up Ahsoka's story after the Jedi purge with her as one of the only three Jedi survivors.

TCW has already been setting up Luz and possibly little Boba Fett as characters for a future series that deals with the dark days as the Rebel Alliance takes shape. Luz in particular seems like he'd be an integral part of that story. It practically writes itself.
