Would someone be willing to put Hugh Laurie in a First Contact-era sciences uniform? I keep imagining him as Hugh Cambridge (Full Circle, Unworthy), and someone in the TrekLit forum said the author had him in mind as well.
Aside from the lighting issues, I think you also need to play with the head sizes. They feel a little small relative to the bodies. A good way to make sure they match is to take the layer with the new head and make it about 50% transparent. Line it up with the old one and line up the eyes. Then keep re-sizing until the eyes on each one match as close as possible. Then turn it back up to full opacity and work on the blending and lighting stuff.
Yep. That's the only First Contact era sciences uniform I could find that fit the criteria for what I needed.
When swapping heads, I usually drag guides to mark the centers of the eyes, the mouth, and the bottom of the chin. I use those to size and align the new head. Also, a useful trick is to occasionally flop the image left-to-right and back again as you work. It keeps your perspective fresh.
I may have to "borrow" this one as a new avatar. I love it! It reminds me of the Wizards' Chess-type game they played on the Millenium Falcon.
Allow me to say thank you and great work too! I may just have to use this as my bookmark for the next TNG book.
Hey speaking of image editing techniques, does anyone know how to make a photo look like a painting? Are there some special filters or combination thereof that can do it? I've seen some really amazing work done. Check out this link that Rulius posted in another thread: Star Trek Vintage Artwork. My favorites are: Greco's Spock Spock Velázquez Spock & Princess Kes study (weird, but very imaginative)
Does anyone here know who the author is of this hilarious, imaginative work? I'm just mirroring the image, certainly not taking any credit for it. I think it's great and must have taken a ton of time to create. Anyone, anyone?
Could somebody do an edit of James Kirk (TOS era) as an Air Force General (1-star) or a Navy Admiral (2 stars)?
^ I could have sworn I saw somebody do this earlier on... maybe check the older Photoshop threads. Here's a recent joke variation on "changed clothes" for the famed TOS duo of Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock:
