I like how you imposed your opinion on his post. Tell me Trekker, what do I think of the movie, hmmmm?

Affleck was fine in Daredevil. Garner was fine as well. Farrell was great. They were just saddled with a bad director who, while he loves Marvel comics, is just not a good action director.

I like this from the comment section...

The comments then go on to point out that there's no mention in the casting call that it's supposed to be a love interest for Wayne. They also point out that "physicality" is part of the role and both Mercy Graves and Wonder Woman come up a lot.

Maybe, instead of an action movie, they'll make it a romantic comedy, like those old '60s comic books where Superman and Batman vied for the affections of Lois or Wonder Woman or some alien princess. :D

So, wait...Superman/Clark isn't going to be Batman/Bruce's love interest? Well that kills my interest in this sequel :( ;)

I do have to wonder if it's too much though. I haven't seen Man of Steel, yet, I'm waiting for the DVD release, but, many are saying with so much Origin Story in the first one, they would prefer for the first sequel to be more Superman/Clark centric. Adding in a new Batman, and then adding in a love interest for Batman makes it sound more like a Batman movie with Superman guest starring, rather than a Superman movie? Hopefully it won't be taking attention away from Superman as much as I am imagining.

^Now I'm thinking of John Candy and Steve Martin in Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

You mean Planes, Speeding Locomotives, and Batmobiles. :)

Throw in Wonder Woman and you have:

Invisible Planes, Speeding Locomotives, and Batmobiles.

Call me crazy, but I'd actually be open to something like that. As long as it's not encumbered by cliche, a little lightheartedness might actually do the franchise (or even the genre) some good.

I have said this before I think the first Iron Man movie struck the right tone. Humor and drama along with action and adventure. These are comic book movies after all. I found those elements missing in the Nolan Batman trilogy and sure wish the next Batman/Superman movie would lighten up just a bit.

Comic book movies don't have to all be the same. There's room for different approaches. Superhero movies have been lighthearted since their inception so I'm happy to see what a more serious/naturalistic approach looks like.

Since they've moved forward with casting Affleck, I'm anxious to see some production pics. In my opinion, it could be either a mind-blower, or another typical WB/DC trashcan flick that just doesn't work.

    We'll see.

Maybe Clark wouldn't feel as awkward if he took his glasses off before going to bed....
