Yeah, it's technically well done but it's been done to death, going back to animated characters from Disney films.
The nominees at the technical awards must have had serious nerd wood with nuKirk and Uhura hosting their awards. So far MacFarland and the jokes/bits written for him have been by far the best part of the show. There's been a few other good parts, but also a lot of strange choices on the part of the director and producers.
This year continues the proof that Best Sound Editing is really Best Action Film (tie notwithstanding).
It's happened a few times before. Mostly notably in 1968, when Katherine Hepburn and Barbra Streisand tied for Best Actress. And Skyfall takes the other one. I got that one wrong, even with two chances. 11/13.
A tie? What is this shit, soccer? Everyone winning sound editing looks like they want to kill John McClane.
Weren't we promised performances of the Best Song nominees? I would think they would want to spread those across the show. Are they gonna do them all one after the other?
I didn't see Brave but I have a hard time believing it was better than Wreck-It Ralph. But leave it to the Academy to have to bow down at the altar to even average Pixar films.
