Indeed. Thanks, Anthony. It's an honor to be featured on your site. I won't forget this moment.

I'd like to mirror that sentiment. This was such a fun thing because of all the people involved. So, thank you to all. Sorry, I'm getting all teary-eyed ...

However, can we change our avatars now? This is getting ridiculous!

Getting? Weren't we already at ridiculous? I never get the memos on this stuff.

Maybe I should order a GooglyMUSombreroPrise with custom shark fin on the secondary hull, before it's too late.

I can't take quite that much credit. (Which means I may have to step down as the Gene Roddenberry of the Sombreroprise.)

If memory serves, PowderedToastMan/Anthony found this thread on his own and stated that he would include it in his next "Great Links" update.

Some posters here noticed that the next "Great Links" update went up and we weren't included.

So I went to the site and said "Where the frak is the Sombreroprise?" and I used quite a few Jedi mind tricks and subliminal powers on Anthony. He quickly and easily crumbled under my charms and said he forgot to include us on the last update, but he would definitely add us the next time.

It would appear that he has made good on his word. Thank you, Anthony. :techman:

Not just any penguin, but a butch male that sits upon the tele' and explodes just after 8 o'clock!

    Sincerely,

Well, see, there's your total control. Great Bird status restored! :D

And, honestly, this is seriously awesome. I've never been involved, even tangentially, in any meme before. So to have touched the googly goodness of the Sombreroprise, even in its infancy, is really cool. :bolian:

Cheers for everyone! The beer smileys are on me!:beer:

Yeah, this was the most fun I've had at the Trek BBS in a long time.

See J.J.? We don't need spoilers. We have plenty to do to keep ourselves busy.

And most shocking of all, none of the usual members of the Sourpuss Brigade came in to rain on the parade. :techman:

They are frightened off by the sheer look of the evil MU Sombreroprise. ;)

Then at last we know why Abrams is not featuring it in the film. It is too powerful for the average American filmgoer.

There is an explanation behind the shark fin request, but perhaps my penguin also needs a ceremonial sombrero.

I think we should lobby to have it placed on the wall in one of those "All the different ships named Enterprise" displays. Maybe at Starfleet academy?

Someone should photoshop what that would look like, mixed in with all the "real" ships on the wall.

Let's give it one more week. Hell, the "Great Links" link just went up. We have to show our feathers with pride while the world -- nay, the Universe! -- is watching.

I want this. BADLY. As you said way back at the start of the thread, "Let's make this happen!"

Anthony has some kind of quasi-official Paramount connection, right? :p

Or we could start a TrekBBS letter-writing campaign. :D

    Seconded!

For quite some time now, I've been planning a campaign in which I collect a bunch of money from Star Trek fans from all over the world...

That's about as far as I got in the planning stages.
