Auf Facebook wird ein wie ich finde recht ernst zu nehmender Versuch unternommen um mit Hilfe von Fans eine mögliche neue TV Serie ins Leben zu rufen. Unter http://www.facebook.com/StarTrekTitan?sk=wall kann man sich die Bemühnungen einmal ansehen, eine Petition unterzeichnen und auf http://www.youtube.com/user/StarTrekTitan einen kurzen Teaser zur Aktion ansehen. Zu den Unterstützern gehört auch ein gewisser Jonathan Frakes der dann als Hauptdarsteller fungieren würde, der dieser Idee nicht abgeneigt ist.

Dies kann aber nur gelingen durch Fan Beteiligung, wenn ihr die Idee gut findet, dann unterstützt Sie.

Well at this point I'm down with any intergalactic TV show, being that there is none left on TV(please enlighten me if I'm wrong) Sci fi has gone to the vampires. I'd rather see a trek say 50+ years in the future much like TNG was to TOS. Maby a timeline between enterprise and TOS ohh wait Deadalus class..yuck

One of the supporters is a certain Jonathan Frakes, who'd act as main character and is fond of the idea.

However, this can only come true if fans participate. If you like the idea, support it.

I would love to see this! It's too bad we never even found out what class of ship the Titan is, but on the other hand that means they could make it a "new" design.

 

^ I thought we DO know what the Titan both looks like and her class... Luna Class, IIRC.

Unless I'm remembering the (wrong) Titan ??

That's internet conjecture and a series of non-canon stories. The existence of a starship named Titan and the fact that Riker took command of her following the events of Nemesis, on the other hand, are matters of canon.

A new series wouldn't have to have the Titan be a Luna class or even the newish ship depicted in the various stories. As GotNoRice points out, this would leave a new series the flexibility to create the ship in whatever form the series producers wished. The roles of Captain Riker and Deanna Troi would likely have to be recast with younger actors. Entirely new characters could also be created.

I don't think it would be necessary to recast the roles of Riker and Troi at all. Enough time has passed by now that they'd have to be Starfleet veterans (gotta stop thinking of them as the former exec and counselor of the Enterprise, IMO). Rather, surround them with new younger characters, including one that was probably much like Riker as a young officer.

 

Then they would have to back to the old timeline.

There was so much already established in canon.

It would be simpler if they would just get a complelt new cre if they wanted too.

 

^^^ Humm, but have the characters of Riker and Troi would provide a link of continuity to the established universe. An anchor.

 

An anchor could be a TNG actor playing a different character in the new timeline if tou need and anchor so bad.
