My feelings about it? Hmm...I'd say he's an adequate, though somewhat mediocre, narrator.

And? Beltran still has the right to peddle his wares to whoever will pay him.

I don't think anyone was questioning his right to do so, I think the issue was our feelings about it.

Robert Beltran has every right to work for LaRouche, and I have every right to look down on him for it. He could have done something that left him some self-respect, like porn.

The couple moments I listened to were adequate but hardly exceptional. Never really taken by Beltran's performance in Trek, and not particularly taken by his voice. Sounds like Beltran reading. Good for him.

As for LaRouche, don't know enough about him to hold an opinion

    ^^^Only if it's good porn.

As to LaRouche, let me just tell people that for a time he was vociferously propagating the notion the Elizabeth II was a drug baron. Given her vast wealth, some connection, meaningful or coincidental, between drugs and one or more enterprises might be drawn. That makes this claim one of his saner ones.

On the other hand, his use of physical violence against C the Communist Party and other assorted leftists back in the Seventies would surely inspire deep reverence for him on the part of some members here.

Sure, LaRouche used violence against Communists, but what makes you think it was personal? His people like to use violence and the threat of violence against all sorts of folks all across the ideological spectrum.

Leftists, right-winters, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, socialists, Tea Partiers and Occupiers -- if there's one place we can all come together, it's in acknowledging that Lyn LaRouche is a scumbag and his sycophants are cult members.

I don't actually know of LaRouche's organization engaging in street violence against conservatives, libertarians, Tea Partiers, or even Occupiers. So far as I know LaRouche's criminal activities nowadays have to do with fraud and various ways of looting the personal wealth of well-heeled sympathizers. So far as I know his activities against conservatives were more slanderous, like saying Henry Kissinger slept with boys. Judging from the posts in the thread so far, I don't see a bit of agreement about LaRouche being a villain.

As I remember, retirees without too many relatives were favorites of his organization. Back in the Fusion Energy Foundation there was an occasion when they supposedly took a 79 year old retiree to withdraw stock certificates from the safety deposit in the bank, wiping out his life savings. Millions of perfectably respectable conservatives however want to take old people's living away from them. Surely retail is less offensive than wholesale?

I don't know who this LaRouche fella is,either, but after just spending a couple of minutes reading the link from here - I certainly wouldn't be working for him. I suppose Beltran needed the work?
